My name is Colette Paparesta. I am the Founder and Creator of DesigNerd, LLC., and the DesigNerd Drafting Kit. As far back as I can remember, I have always had an eye for design. As a child I can recall entering into places and visualizing how it could be improved for a more practical, comfortable, and aesthetically pleasing look and feel. As a South Florida native, I have been exposed to a wonderful, eclectic range of design styles from all over the globe which has contributed to igniting my interest in design. Through volunteering with Habitat for Humanity for over 15 years, I have had the most rewarding opportunities to assist in building homes for well-deserving, hard-working people and families, while at the same time engaging in my passion for interior design for a positive purpose. I am immensely grateful to now have a built a business by creating a product that will help provide for an enhanced experience for fellow interior designers, and related industry professionals.
WHAT IS THE DESIGNERD DRAFTING KIT?
The concept for the kit came from
my own experiences and frustrations as a former Interior Design student.
One of my favorite classes was Drawing/Hand
Drafting — it was where I found the most joy and where I could truly express myself through design. However, despite loving the creative process, I constantly struggled to keep my materials organized. Drafting supplies were scattered between bags and boxes, and finding what I needed often interrupted my workflow. I wanted to be able to have all of my drafting materials in one portable, easily accessible place. As you know, organization is not only a core mindset of an interior designer but also one of the most critical elements of the design process itself.
After completing my Interior Design program, I was inspired to solve that challenge. I embarked on a journey to develop a product that would help interior designers and students — stay focused, inspired, and organized. The result is the DesigNerd Kit, which combines quality, practicality, and thoughtful design in one comprehensive set.
