A message from our Founder
My name is Colette Paparesta. I am the Founder and Creator of DesigNerd, LLC., and the DesigNerd Drafting Kit.
As far back as I can remember, I have always had an eye for design. As a child I can recall entering into places and visualizing how it could be improved for a more practical, comfortable, and aesthetically pleasing look and feel. Being born and raised in Miami, Florida to now residing in Tampa, Florida I have been exposed to a wonderful, eclectic range of design styles from all over the globe which has contributed to igniting my interest in design.
Through volunteering with Habitat for Humanity for over 15 years, I have had the most rewarding opportunities to assist in building homes for well-deserving, hard-working people and families, while at the same time engaging in my passion for interior design for a positive purpose.
I am immensely grateful to now have a built a business by creating a product that will help provide for an enhanced experience for fellow interior designers, and related industry professionals.
Why DesigNerd?
The idea of the DesigNerd Drafting Kit came about during my time as an interior design student. One of my favorite classes was Drafting by Hand. This is where I felt the most joy and was able to really express myself through design. As much as I enjoyed this class, I was constantly frustrated with having to lug all of my supplies from class to class in a large bulky bag. It was even more cumbersome having to search for all of the loose items and keeping them organized. I wanted to be able to have all of my drafting materials in one portable, easily accessible place. Thus, the concept of the Interior Design Drafting Kit was created. This product is comprised of a carrying case containing most of the supplies needed exclusively for manual rendering of interior design floor plans and spaces.
